Massachusetts Job Developer of the Year

At the Massachusetts 2012 Employment Matters! Conference, Ilene Asarch was named Job Developer of the Year. Ms. Asarch received this honor for her long-standing efforts to include transition-age students with disabilities in the workforce. She was nominated by Pat Pakos from the Arc of Massachusetts and Cathy Heller, Director of Student Support Services in the Needham Public Schools.

New Transition Advisory from the MA DESE

On September 14 2012, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Educations' Special Education Department released a new transition advisory on transition.

The purpose of this advisory is to:

Massachusetts Advocates for Children announces the 2nd annual Youth Advocate of the Year contest to reconize and honor young people for advocating on behalf of children.

The deadline for nominations is August 15 2012.

If you know of a young person or organization which would fit MAC’s criteria for this award, now is the time to let them know about this contest, or you can even nominate them yourself.
